Softball Recap: Waynedale Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Waynedale's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Chippewa Chipps by a score of 7-2. The victory was some much needed relief for the Golden Bears as it spelled an end to their 12-game losing streak.

Brooke Compston made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That stolen base was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Waynedale let Madi Miller and Ashtyn Miller run wild. Madi went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Ashtyn went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. That's the most runs Madi has posted since back in April.

Waynedale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Waynedale's record now sits at 4-15. As for Chippewa, they dropped their record down to 5-13 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Waynedale will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Chipps: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
