League recap: Palmer throws longest pass in league this season for Larned/Pawnee Heights

Easton Palmer and Grant Unruh provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Cimarron. The connection went for 68 yards, the longest such play in Mid-Central this season.

Larned/Pawnee Heights's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Palmer threw for 179 and two touchdowns and Unruh had 90 yards receiving. On the ground Brady Keith chipped in 148 yards. Jamil Shoemaker helped Larned/Pawnee Heights' passing attack out by catching four balls for 68 yards.

Hagan Hanzlick provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Hoisington fell to Phillipsburg. He completed eight passes for 74 yards and also ran for 127 yards. Hanzlick's favorite target this week was Jeffrey Kaiser, who caught one pass for 21 yards.

Peyton Bullard made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Cardinals lost to the Panthers. The senior racked up two sacks.

Larned/Pawnee Heights' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Indians feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Palmer has thrown for 847 yards and four touchdowns this season, while Shoemaker has 18 catches for 332 yards. Keith leads the league in rushing with 734 yards.

The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Larned/Pawnee Heights takes on second place Hoisington. The Indians fell to the Bluejays last week, while Hoisington lost to Phillipsburg.

There should be lots of points scored when Larned/Pawnee Heights and Jason Ingram's team face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, AB Stokes's team comes in having scored 119 this season, while the Cardinals have scored 127. The Indians scored 19 points last week as they fell to Cimarron.

Hoisington made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,994 from 7,140. The improvement was the result of 27-6 victory over the Cardinals last week.
