Basketball Recap: Sumner Takes a Loss

Sumner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 63-22 defeat at the hands of the Liberty Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 548th, while the Eagles are ranked 112th).

Sumner's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Liberty, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Coming up, Sumner is taking a road trip to take on Whitfield at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Sumner is facing Whitfield at the right time seeing as Whitfield is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Liberty, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 72-36 win against South Pemiscot on the 8th.
