Baseball Recap: La Mirada Triumphs

While La Mirada's win against Downey wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Matadores sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Vikings on Tuesday. The Matadores haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Donald Murray looked comfortable as he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kevin Jeon, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Aiden Aguayo was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

La Mirada's record now sits at 11-2. As for Downey, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 12-5.

La Mirada will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Vikings: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
