Softball Recap: Central Snags Eighth Win in Last Ten Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Munster, Central was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Russellville Golden Tigers. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 5-4 loss the last time these two teams met.

Chloe May spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mycah Beth Ray, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Peyton Benson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Central is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Russellville, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-15.

Looking ahead, Central will be playing at home against Florence at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Russellville, they will take on Wilson at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
