Soccer Recap: Englewood vs. Lake County
After a 9-1 finish the last time they played, Englewood and Lake County decided to play a little more cautiously this time around. The Englewood Pirates' defense stepped up to hand the Lake County Panthers a 1-0 shutout on Wednesday. Englewood's winning goal came courtesy of Serenity Gambrell.
Englewood made their fans wait, but they earned their first win of the season to make their record 1-2. As for Lake County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Englewood will take on The Pinnacle at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Englewood's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end. As for Lake County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Arvada at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
