Basketball Recap: Kayleigh Ballance Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Pungo Christian Academy

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Gramercy Christian, Unity Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They managed a 36-32 win over the Pungo Christian Academy Raiders. This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered a 69-34 loss the last time these two teams met.

Unity Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kayleigh Ballance out in front who posted 15 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Harper Smith, who earned four points in addition to four steals and three blocks.

Unity Christian Academy's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Pungo Christian Academy, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Unity Christian Academy will square off against Pitt County P at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pungo Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Epiphany at 6:00 p.m.
