Softball Recap: Stone Ridge Christian Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Stone Ridge Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They put the hurt on the Gustine Reds with a sharp 9-1 victory on Wednesday. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Reds recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Emma Quisenberry made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Hayden Quisenberry was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Skarlett Vega also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Stone Ridge Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matches.

Stone Ridge Christian's record is now 9-6. As for Gustine, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.
