Escondido and Fallbrook are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Cougars will be playing at home against the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hana Winton was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

Winton wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Valeria Cervera, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Fallbrook's loss dropped their record down to 6-13-1. As for Escondido, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-17.
