Baseball Recap: Mission College Prep Has No Trouble Against Yosemite

Mission College Prep came out on top against Yosemite on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run first inning. The Royals blew past the Badgers 12-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-1 on Wednesday.

Ty Bernal was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season.

In other batting news, Kyson Hickman was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Thomas Glenn, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Mission College Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Mission College Prep now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Yosemite, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-11.
