Gunderson played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 35-14 to the Lincoln Lions. The Grizzlies were down 28-0 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Cylis Cook and Andrew Fernandez certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Cook gained 185 total yards and a touchdown, while Fernandez threw for 251 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Gunderson's leading receiver Greg Darling was Fernandez's top target yet again, picking up 116 receiving yards and one TD.

Lincoln found their leader in sophomore Luca Papoulias, who threw for 154 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 passes.

Having lost for the first time this season, Gunderson fell to 3-1. As for Lincoln, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Coincidentally, Gunderson and Lincoln will both be playing Del Mar the next time they take the field. The Lions will host the Dons at 7:15 p.m. on the 26th, while the Grizzlies will head out to face them at 7:15 p.m. on October 3.
