Baseball Recap: Saturday's Victory Is Moody's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

Moody was handed a seven-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They skirted past the McAdory Yellowjackets 3-2. That's more bragging rights for the Blue Devils, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Landon Cherry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits.

On the hitting side, Moody saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braden Wright, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

Moody is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. With the loss, McAdory broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-5.

Looking ahead, Moody will host Leeds at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Leeds' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Moody's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for McAdory, they are taking a road trip to face off against Oak Grove at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Oak Grove will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something McAdory surely won't give up without a fight.
