Game recap: Citrus Valley High School Football Team wins against Fillmore

REDLANDS, Calif. - Citrus Valley (Redlands, Calif.) put up 14 points in the fourth quarter in Saturday's game to seal their 41-14 victory over Fillmore (Calif.).

After taking the lead on a Brett Kokesh touchdown run in the second quarter, the Blackhawks were up 20-7 at the half.

Citrus Valley grew its lead to 20 points entering the fourth quarter. CV scored once in the quarter on a Lance Douglas touchdown pass to Charles Whitley.

Steven Armenta and Kokesh ran for a bunch of touchdowns for the Flashes. Armenta scored two touchdowns on the ground and Kokesh added two as well.



Fillmore came in allowing just 13.6 points per game this season. FHS had a hard time against Citrus Valley's offense, which entered the game scoring 22.8 points per game. The Blackhawks came in allowing an average of 21.9 points per game this season. The defense really stepped up, holding the Flashes well below their season average of 34.2 points scored per game.

The loss comes after Fillmore defeated Santa Clara 48-14 last week. With the win CV extended its winning streak to four games.
