Basketball Recap: Dawson Takes a Loss

Dawson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 36-32 heartbreaker at the hands of the Riesel Indians. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 48-34 last Thursday.

Despite the loss, Dawson still got an impressive performance from Hunter Villarreal, who posted eight points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Brant Boatright was another key player, putting up five points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Dawson's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Riesel, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Itasca the next time they take the court. Riesel will head out to face Itasca at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, while Dawson will play them later in the day, at 6:15 p.m.
