Basketball Recap: Front Range Christian Takes a Loss

It was a Battle of the Birds when Front Range Christian took on Gilpin County on Tuesday. The Front Range Christian Falcons were outmatched by the Gilpin County Eagles and fell 56-27. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Despite the defeat, Front Range Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lily Cameron posted 11 points. Shayla Hajka was another key player, putting up a point along with five steals and four blocks.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gilpin County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Faith Ramsey, who went 6-for-9 en route to 14 points. Ramsey has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Elise Vincent, who had 11 points and eight steals.

Front Range Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Gilpin County, they pushed their record up to 15-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Front Range Christian has already played their next match, a 64-33 defeat against Flatirons Academy on the 20th. As for Gilpin County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-18 victory against Dawson School on the 21st.
