Soccer Game Preview: El Monte vs. Gabrielino

The El Monte Lions are taking a road trip to square off against the Gabrielino Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. El Monte's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Thursday just wasn't the day for El Monte's offense. They fell 2-0 to Arroyo on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that the Lions have lost by exactly two goals.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Gabrielino made sure to put some goals up on the board against South El Monte on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-3 victory over the Eagles.

El Monte's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Gabrielino, they now have a winning record of 3-2-2.

El Monte skirted past Gabrielino 1-0 when the teams last played back in January. Does El Monte have another victory up their sleeve, or will Gabrielino turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
