Colton has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on The Notre Dame Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
While it was all tied up 14-14 at halftime, Colton was not quite Arroyo Valley's equal in the second half on Friday. Colton fell to Arroyo Valley 30-26.
Despite the loss, Colton saw an underclassman step up: Koa Regalado threw for 268 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Regalado was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 67 yards. Alex Juarez was another key contributor, picking up 104 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Notre Dame, who are still winless after their ninth game. They took a 47-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bloomington. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Notre Dame might have lost, but man, Deon Jordan was a machine: he rushed for 270 yards on only 15 carries. Another player making a difference was Mark Cadena, who threw for 154 yards and three touchdowns.
Colton's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 3-6. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 27.8 points per game. As for Notre Dame, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.
Colton didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Notre Dame in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, but they still walked away with a 50-46 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Colton since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
