Flag Football Recap: Rolesville Comes Up Short

Rolesville fell victim to Wakefield and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They were outmatched by the Wolverines and fell 54-0. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina flag football rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Wolverines are ranked first).

Quinn Pope was her usual excellent self, throwing for 145 yards and four touchdowns while completing 84.6% of her passes for Wakefield. Maddy Tegen did her part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 37 receiving yards.

This is the second loss in a row for Rolesville and nudges their season record down to 5-12. As for Wakefield, their victory bumped their record up to 18-0.

Looking ahead, Rolesville will take on Broughton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Wakefield, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 41-0 win against Athens Drive on the 22nd.
