Baseball Recap: Eldorado Wins Going Away Against Elverado

After only one run in their last match, Eldorado made sure to put some runs up on the board against Elverado on Wednesday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 16-0 victory. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Eagles' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Blaze Seagraves made a splash while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Seagraves was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jake Phelps was incredible, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Eldorado's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 1-6 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Olen Oglesby, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Eldorado always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Elverado only posted an OBP of .133.

Eldorado's record is now 4-7. As for Elverado, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-10.

Coming up, Eldorado will challenge Flora at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.13 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Elverado, they will take on Agape Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
