Baseball Game Preview: Wesley Chapel Wildcats vs. Winter Springs Bears

For the second straight game, Wesley Chapel will face off against Winter Springs. The Wildcats will square off against the Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Wesley Chapel 3.5, Winter Springs 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Wesley Chapel heads in on the heels of a playoff game on Wednesday. They fell just short of Winter Springs by a score of 2-1.

For Winter Springs' part, Robbie Mungovan looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Mungovan has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in 13 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Tyler Kenast was excellent, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base.

The win (which was Winter Springs' 14th in a row) raised their record to 26-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Wesley Chapel, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-13.
