Softball Recap: Catalina Trojans vs. Thatcher Eagles
Catalina was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They wound up on the wrong side of a rough 17-1 walloping at the hands of the Thatcher Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Catalina of the 18-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.
For Thatcher's part, Alyna Peru made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and only two hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Peru has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive pitching appearances. Peru was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, a run, and a double.
