Baseball Game Preview: East Hardy Cougars vs. Pendleton County Wildcat

For the second straight game, East Hardy will face off against Pendleton County. The Cougars will head out on the road to take on the Wildcat at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The last five games East Hardy has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when East Hardy and Pendleton County meet (two straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Cougars had just enough and edged out the Wildcat 4-3.

For Pendleton County's part, James Vincell made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Vincell also put up a run, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Caleb Armentrout, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

East Hardy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-15 record this season. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.75 runs across that stretch. As for Pendleton County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 15 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season.
