Softball Recap: Marist Starts Season with Victory Against Creswell

Marist had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victor by a 20-6 margin over the Creswell Bulldogs on Tuesday. For the Spartans, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 win the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Bridget Stephenson was a standout: she scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Finley Schweigert was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs.

Coming up, Marist is taking a road trip to challenge Sweet Home at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Creswell, they will host Siuslaw at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
