Basketball Recap: Tri-Cities Prep Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Tri-Cities Prep couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Northwest Christian School Crusaders by a score of 54-51 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Jaguars have suffered since February 24, 2024.

Northwest Christian School's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Avi West, who went 9-for-15 en route to 24 points. West is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in each of the last 39 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Caleb Grant, who shot 64% from the field to rack up 16 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Tri-Cities Prep and nudges their season record down to 22-7. As for Northwest Christian School, their victory bumped their record up to 20-9.

Tri-Cities Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Northwest Christian School, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Okanogan at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. Northwest Christian School is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
