Softball Recap: Northside Christian Comes Up Short

Northside Christian and Shorecrest Prep squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Northside Christian had to settle for second. They came up short against the Chargers, falling 13-6. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Chargers recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Gabriela Fisher was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Rylee White was another key player, earning two runs and three stolen bases.

Northside Christian's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Shorecrest Prep, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-6.

Northside Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Shorecrest Prep, they will challenge Neumann at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Celtics' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Chargers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
