Winning always takes teamwork, but on Tuesday Josh Kandefer stepped things up a notch to give Canisius the 'W'. Kandefer wasn't messing around, pitching 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. The pitching appearance was his third straight with one or fewer earned runs.

Kandefer's strong effort led Canisius over Nichols and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Crusaders will be headed into this one with a sizable disadvantage in the rankings (they're ranked 195 places lower in New York), but they're not letting that get them down.
