Basketball Recap: 12 Straight Home Wins for Capistrano Valley Christian

Capistrano Valley Christian had won 11 straight home games dating back to last season and Michael Ahern did his part to make it 12 on Wednesday. The Capistrano Valley Christian Eagles took down the Arrowhead Christian Eagles 70-51 thanks in part to Ahern, who went 11 of 19 en route to 32 points along with six rebounds and five assists. His evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Benjamin Makelela, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 19 boards. That's the most rebounds he has posted since back in December of 2024.

Capistrano Valley Christian is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.9 points per game. As for Arrowhead Christian, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-9.

Capistrano Valley Christian will face off against Avalon at 2:45 p.m. on Friday. Capistrano Valley Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten contests -- so hopefully Avalon likes a good challenge. As for Arrowhead Christian, they will challenge Ontario Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Arrowhead Christian is facing Ontario Christian at the right time seeing as Ontario Christian is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
