Basketball Recap: English Valleys Takes a Loss

English Valleys was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Pekin Panthers, falling 72-47. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 334th, while the Panthers are ranked 159th).

English Valleys' defeat dropped their record down to 4-19. As for Pekin, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-6.

Looking ahead, English Valleys will challenge Meskwaki Settlement on Friday. As for Pekin, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 49-45 victory against Winfield-Mt. Union on the 11th.
