Football Recap: KIPP Atlanta Collegiate Comes Up Short

KIPP Atlanta Collegiate played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Carver Panthers, falling 35-14. The Warriors lost against the Panthers in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 44-0 score last time.

Although KIPP Atlanta Collegiate took the loss, they still got scores from Lawrence Moreland and Travion Callaway.

Carver's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Corey Fletcher, who threw for 183 yards and one TD on only 17 passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Hill, who gained 118 total yards.

This is the second loss in a row for KIPP Atlanta Collegiate and nudges their season record down to 4-3. As for Carver, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-0.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. KIPP Atlanta Collegiate will face off against rival Therrell at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Carver is set to challenge their familiar foe Holy Innocents Episcopal at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Panthers 6, the Golden Bears 8.5) so any points scored will be well earned.
