Baseball Recap: Liberty County Comes Up Short

Liberty County had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-4 to make it four. They came up short against the Blountstown Tigers, falling 13-3. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

As for Blountstown, their record is now 4-2. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the game before.

For Blountstown's part, Ja'Corey Williams was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Williams is becoming a predictor of the Tigers' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Andrew Williams also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Liberty County will take on Franklin County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Seahawks have averaged an impressive 10.2 runs per game this season. As for Blountstown, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Vernon at 6:00 p.m. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Yellowjackets have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season.
