Basketball Game Preview: Pass Christian Pirates vs. North Forrest Eagles

The Pass Christian Pirates will square off against the North Forrest Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Pass Christian has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with three straight losses, while North Forrest will come in with three straight victories.

Pass Christian is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Perry Central on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Pirates had to suffer through a 61-31 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs. The Pirates were down 52-24 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

While North Forrest didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 56-46 win over West Marion on Thursday.

North Forrest's win came from a few key players Pass Christian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Brooklynn Adams, who posted 19 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of North Forrest's points. Another player making a difference was Laken Wilson, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten boards.

North Forrest's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Pass Christian, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Pass Christian strolled past North Forrest in their previous meeting back in November of 2021 by a score of 62-44. Do the Pirates have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
