Basketball Recap: Dugger Union Takes a Loss

Dugger Union was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine 60-23. The Bulldogs lost against Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 44-41 score last time.

Dugger Union's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Weselon Smith, who posted seven points, and Elijah Eads, who put up six points.

Dugger Union's record now sits at 0-5. As for Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Dugger Union wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 85-27 loss against North Vermillion on the 14th. As for Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine, they will host Marshall at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Marshall's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups.
