Soccer Game Preview: St. Michael vs. E.D. White

The St. Michael Warriors will head out to challenge the E.D. White Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

St. Michael is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They never let Leesville get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. The high-scoring effort was just what St. Michael needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask E.D. White). They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over Port Allen on Wednesday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering E.D. White's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana soccer rankings (they are ranked 39th, while Port Allen are ranked 145th).

E.D. White has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those four contests. As for St. Michael, they now have a winning record of 11-10-4.

St. Michael beat E.D. White by a goal in their previous matchup back in January, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
