Softball Game Preview: Harpeth Indians vs. Portland Panthers

The Harpeth Indians will face off against the Portland Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Portland took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Harpeth, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row dating back to last season, Harpeth turned things around against Franklin on Wednesday. They blew past the Admirals 7-1. The Indians not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 26, 2024.

Ava Vannata spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cameron Hayes, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-4. Another player making a difference was Lilly Stinson, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Portland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 13-2 to Westmoreland.

Portland's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Harpeth, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
