Softball Recap: Burroughs Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Burroughs entered their tilt with Glendale on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Nitros with a sharp 9-1 win. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.

Burroughs gave Elliott Rendon the start and clearly made the right call: she struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Rendon has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Sydney Shugar, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Orozco, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Burroughs was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .320 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Burroughs' record is now 7-3. As for Glendale, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.

Burroughs has already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Crescenta Valley on the 12th. As for Glendale, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 14-2 defeat against Burbank on the 12th.
