Basketball Recap: Carver Collegiate Academy's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

If Carver Collegiate Academy was feeling good fresh off their 55-7 takedown of King Charter last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Carver Collegiate Academy Rams took a 67-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Salmen Spartans on Tuesday. The Rams were down 59-34 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Salmen was led to victory by Kendal Thomas and Akayla Mcmooain. Thomas dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten assists, while Mcmooain went 10 of 12 on her way to 24 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Thomas has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Parris Powell, who posted six points.

Carver Collegiate Academy's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-5. As for Salmen, they moved to 7-9 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Carver Collegiate Academy has already played their next game (against Abramson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Salmen will welcome Chalmette at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Salmen has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
