Overton gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Shelton Bulldogs 2-1. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 victory the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2024.

Overton had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-18, 25-15.

Their offense was headlined by Daisy Ryan and Gracen Hughes, who picked up ten kills apiece. They got some help from Kyla Elfgren and her 29 assists. Chloe Svarvari controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Shelton now has a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Overton will host Hitchcock County at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday. As for Shelton, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 win against St. Patrick's on the 30th.
