Basketball Recap: Lincoln Skates Past Jefferson with Ease

Lincoln won the last time they faced Jefferson and things went their way on Friday too. The Lincoln Lynx simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Jefferson Yellowjackets 65-14. That looming 65-14 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Lynx yet this season.

Lincoln's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Addie Naughton, who posted five points in addition to seven boards and four steals. Naughton is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Hutson Rau, who put up seven points and four steals.

Lincoln smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive matches dating back to last season.

The win got Lincoln back to even at 3-3. As for Jefferson, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Lincoln didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-50 defeat against Omaha Central on the 21st. As for Jefferson, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lincoln at 6:15 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
