West Craven's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They skirted past the SouthWest Edgecombe Cougars 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won three in a row.

West Craven had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 18-25, 25-19, 25-7, 15-11.

Sophia Sutton paced West Craven's offense, picking up 16 kills. Sutton got some help from Taylar Jarman and her 18 assists. Danika Hurst controlled things from the service line, finishing with eight aces.

West Craven's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for SouthWest Edgecombe, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Craven will head out to challenge Eastern Wayne at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for SouthWest Edgecombe, they will venture away from home to face off against Nash Central at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
