Carlinville takes loss despite strong efforts from  Camden Naugle and  Sawyer Smith

 The Carlinville Cavaliers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher  on Monday after their sixth straight loss. They took a  38-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of Carrollton. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest  points Carlinville has scored all season.
 Carlinville's loss  came despite strong showings from  Sawyer Smith and  Camden Naugle.  Smith  scored nine points along with four  steals and three  blocks, while  Naugle  scored seven points. Those four  steals set a new season-high mark for him.
 Carlinville bumped their record down to 1-6 with that  defeat, which was their fifth straight  at home dating back to last season. As for Carrollton, their victory  ended a six-game drought on the road  dating back to last season and  puts them at 3-5.
 Carlinville will be home for the holidays to greet  South County at 4:00  p.m.  on Saturday. South County is coming into the  contest hot, having won their last six games. Carrollton will be staying on the road  on Friday to face off against Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia at 6:00  p.m.  on December 15th.
