            Softball Recap: Valley Vista Monsoon vs. Shadow Ridge Stallions        
        
		
        
        
            Valley Vista extended their losing streak  to eight  on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 5-16 in the process. They came up short against  the Shadow Ridge Stallions, falling  20-1. The Monsoon were not able to make up for their  loss to the Stallions from their previous meeting  back in April of 2024.
 Valley Vista saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Adria Garcia, who  went 1-for-2 with one  run and one  double.
As for Shadow Ridge, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9-1 record  this season. The result was nothing new for Shadow Ridge, who have now won seven games by six  runs or more  so far this season.
 On Shadow Ridge's side,  Madilyn Gentner was  incredible,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with four  stolen bases, three  runs,  and four  RBI. Those  four  stolen bases gave  Gentner a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Destiny Johnston, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with three  runs, one  triple,  and one  stolen base.
 Looking ahead, Shadow Ridge will face off against Maryvale at 3:45  p.m.  on Wednesday. Valley Vista will be paying especially close attention to the Stallions'  contest: after the Stallions face off against the Panthers, they'll take on Valley Vista again  at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
