Basketball Game Preview: Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles vs. Tullahoma Wildcats

The Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles will take on the Tullahoma Wildcats in a holiday battle at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gray Collegiate Academy has given up an average of 61.4 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Gray Collegiate Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Carolina's top teams: North Augusta, who was ranked eighth at the time (Gray Collegiate Academy was ranked first). The War Eagles came out on top against the Yellow Jackets by a score of 64-56 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Tullahoma sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 55-52 win over Shelbyville Central on Tuesday. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Golden Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Gray Collegiate Academy better keep an eye on Jayden Thompson. He was instrumental in Tullahoma's win, shooting 43% from the field on his way to 17 points and eight rebounds. Thompson continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Bobo, who posted eight points and six boards.

Gray Collegiate Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Tullahoma, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
