Softball Recap: Mcnairy Central Extends Winning Streak to Three

McNairy Central entered their tilt with Milan on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Indians.

Kenli Bingham was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last seven contests. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, McNairy Central let Rhyan Gray and Paige Mercer run wild. Gray went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Mercer went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, Mercer posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Callie Finlayson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

McNairy Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Milan only posted a batting average of .208.

McNairy Central's win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Milan, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, McNairy Central will challenge Bedford North Lawrence at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Milan, they will square off against Lauderdale County at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. The last five games Lauderdale County has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
