Boys' Latin Charter proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 17) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Prep Charter Huskies 11-9. Boys' Latin Charter has seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw Prep Charter, too.

Elijah Phillips was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off two hits. Phillips was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chris Dempsey, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-4. Sebastian Hernandez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-4.

Boys' Latin Charter's win ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-0.

Coming up, Boys' Latin Charter will take on Franklin Learning Center at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Prep Charter, they and Roxborough will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
