Basketball Recap: Brighton Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Olympus

On Tuesday, Brighton faced Olympus in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Brighton Bengals fell just short of the Olympus Titans by a score of 53-50. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bengals have suffered since December 13, 2024.

Brighton lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Bradley Easton, who posted 13 points along with seven boards and four blocks. The dominant performance gave Easton a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Mawhinney, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards.

Brighton's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Olympus, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-2 record this season.
