Basketball Recap: York Sets Scoring Season-High Against Indian Land

York was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 50-33 to the Indian Land Warriors. One positive for the Cougars, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

York's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gracin Carroll, who posted ten points. The dominant performance gave Carroll a new career-high in points. Brooklyn Dial was another key player, putting up ten points.

Emily Callahan went supernova for Indian Land, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 12 boards. With that strong performance, Callahan is now averaging an impressive 2.4 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Johnson, who put up nine points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists.

York's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Indian Land, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season.

When York and Indian Land next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. York will try to stop Clover's five-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Indian Land will try to stop White Knoll's three-game winning streak when the meet at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
