Basketball Recap: Clearwater Central Catholic Takes Down Northside Christian in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Clearwater Central Catholic had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They secured a 43-38 W over the Northside Christian Mustangs. Given the Marauders' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Mustangs are ranked 269th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Emme Dalhoff was her usual excellent self, going 11 of 25 to rack up 26 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Dalhoff is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Comfort, who posted 12 points and three steals.

Clearwater Central Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive matches.

Clearwater Central Catholic has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season. As for Northside Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-6 record this season.
