Preview: Clackamas Cavaliers vs. Lincoln Cardinals

Clackamas is 3-0 against Lincoln since November of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Clackamas Cavaliers will look to defend their home field against the Lincoln Cardinals. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, Clackamas beat Reynolds 14-7. The victory was just what Clackamas needed coming off of a 56-14 defeat in their prior contest.

Clackamas' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Max Maehara, who rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. Immanuel Williams also helped out with an impressive 84 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Lincoln got themselves on the board against Cleveland on Friday, but Cleveland never followed suit. They claimed a resounding 40-0 victory over the Warriors at home. The win made it back-to-back wins for Lincoln.

Lincoln can attribute much of their success to Emmett Togni, who rushed for 107 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. Togni is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played.

Clackamas now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Lincoln, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.

Clackamas strolled past Lincoln in their previous meeting back in September of 2018 by a score of 35-21. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Lincoln's Daniel Kovalev, who rushed for 37 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 47 receiving yards. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Clackamas to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
