Baseball Recap: Hughes Comes Up Short

Hughes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 12-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Shroder Paideia Academy Jaguars. The BIG RED were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jaguars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2021.

Hughes' loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Shroder Paideia Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hughes will head out to square off against St. Bernard-Elmwood Place at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The BIG RED's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Titans have averaged an impressive 12 runs per game this season. As for Shroder Paideia Academy, they will take on Gamble Montessori at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
