Soccer Recap: Marshall Takes a Loss

Marshall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 5-1 to the Texas Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Mavericks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 595th, while the Tigers are ranked 282nd).

Marshall's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5-1. As for Texas, their win bumped their record up to 4-2-1.

Marshall has already played their next contest (against Mt. Pleasant), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Texas will face off against Jacksonville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Texas is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.5 goals per game this season.
